Yes, Bonsai artist's use either Aluminium wire that is anodized ( normally brown or black ) or copper wire. Aluminium wire is affordable and easy to apply. Copper wire is more expensive but is stronger and harder to apply.

A general rule of thumb is to use a piece of wire that is 1/3 the thickness of the branch or trunk you are wiring. This isn't going to be accurate for all trees but it will get you close. We suggest having at least 1 roll of each size wire so you will always have the correct size for any job on hand.

Bonsai artists use special bonsai wire cutters, These wire cutters can prevent damage to the tree when removing wire. We also have detail wire cutters which are small and fit in the hand, this prevent you from putting down and picking up your wire cutters multiple times while wiring.
